Letaba Flying Club History
Letaba Flying Club of Tzaneen will host the 3rd Race of Champions Air Race this year at the Tzaneen Airport.
The club consists of 50 members, all with a passion for aviation.
The airport is currently the home of 18 fixed wing aircraft as well as 6 helicopters and we can proudly say that a flying school, called Wings Over Africa, is also operated from the airport. The Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007 and every pilot are just as enthusiastic as in years gone by.
The goal of this years’ air race aims for all pilots to enjoy the race in a relaxed mood and we hope to make this years’ race one of the best.
This year will also see the first ever combination of the air race and an air show, and this promises to be a spectacular event with lots of entertainment for the crowd. Tzaneen Air Show was awarded the prize for the best air show in South Africa in 2005 and received the award again in 2007.
Tzaneen airfield is also definitely one of the best municipal airfields in the country and we invite you to come and partake in the best air race and airshow held in South Africa, ever!
